Anodizing

perfect protection

colorful and efficient

The term anodizing refers to a process by which the surface of aluminum materials is coated with a protective layer. This is achieved by electrolytic oxidation of aluminum. The term anodizing is also composed in this way. The advantage of such a treatment is that the protective layer is applied halfway into the material. Here, however, we are talking about layer thicknesses in the thousandths range.

The oxide layer produced is usually between 5 and 25 μm thick.  Nevertheless, a designer should consider this in the design of his tolerance and the fit of the tool. Thus, flaking as with a paint finish is not a factor. In addition, anodizing can also be used with paint, because the paint can embed itself very well in the pores of the anodized layer. This protects the layer very well against damage or abrasion.
